On Our Radar

We are still a month out from the official day of Spring here in Iowa, but we got a taste of it last week with a day in short sleeves only to get slapped with single-digit temps and back in the winter parka the very next day. We guess it is just another Iowaegian Winter!

CIRREM Weather
Speaking of Iowa weather, we'll be attending CIRREM in Cumming on Saturday (Feb 26th). The starting temps will be high teens and by 2:00pm, it will be 40 degrees. Dressing in layers will be key! Since it is a gravel race, we know the gravel roads will be quite sloppy near the end. it will be the 14th year for the race and we've been there for 13 of them. GOOD LUCK to all those racing and THANKS to the Cumming Tap for hosting and all the volunteers who make it happen. After the race, hang at the Tap and stop by the Iowa Distilling Company which is across the street.

Iowa Mountain Bike Championship Series (IMBCS)
BIKEIOWA and the BIKEIOWA Racing Team are excited to take over the Iowa Mountain Bike Championship Series (IMBCS) starting with the 2022 season. The series exists to promote mountain bike racing in Iowa, our great dirt trails local trail organizations that host each race. Anyone can get involved from the seasoned experienced racer to the first-time rider to those riders who only compete for fun and socialization. The more you race, the more points you get. At the end of the season the winners of each category receive free entries into next year's races. Stay tuned for some cool incentives for kids and juniors! Most details are already posted and the Technical Guide and Sponsors will be posted on March 1st. There is a dedicated page for the series here:

2022 Events
We are working hard to ensure all 2022 events are added to our Event Calendar. Just to set the record straight, YOU add YOUR events, not us. That way YOU can edit them anytime YOU want. Even if you don't know all the details, just get get it on the calendar now to hold the date as there are many great events happening on the same day. Post a New Event. If your event occurred last year, you can save some typing and clone your event by going to the event and clicking on the "clone" button or from the event list in your dashboard. The earlier you post, the more awareness your event gets. The calendar can handle weekly recurring rides and events too.

We know content is King (& Queen). We are dedicated to keeping up this year with as much new content and we can post and produce. We have been added quite a few new Reviews on all sorts of topics and have posted 46 News posts already this year. We'll be doing more video interviews and podcasting this year too. Stay tuned for more of that. Have some ideas on what we should cover? email

Thanks for using BikeIowa
Ride Safe!
