On Our Radar

June was a whirlwind - packed with rides, new sponsors/partners, 70+ News posts, and trail vibes all across Iowa. Let’s roll into July with even more momentum!

Iowa’s new Hands-Free Driving Law takes effect today - stay safe, stay focused, and keep your phone down while driving.  MORE INFO

Where will BIKEIOWA be on RAGBRAI this year?
We’ll be set up in the overnight towns - and let’s just say we’ve got some very exciting things in motion for that week! Stay tuned for updates on new partnerships and a whole new way to experience BIKEIOWA on the route…

~~~
Sponsor Spotlights! - We reached out to our amazing sponsors to see who wanted to be part of this month’s Ride Reminder - and they showed up big! These businesses help keep BIKEIOWA rolling, so give them some love, stop in, or give 'em a follow. They support the Iowa cycling scene - let’s support them right back.
  • 50 Years of Miller Lite - A Toast to a True Classic
    Miller Lite is turning 50 years old- and while we all know age is just a number, this milestone is a big deal in the world of beer, biking, and beyond. At BIKEIOWA, we’ve been cracking open cold Miller Lites since our very first Ride Reminder - and we’re proud to have had them as our "Powered By" sponsor since 2006. So let’s take a moment to raise a can (or two) and celebrate one of the most iconic beers in American history.
  • Lakeshore Cyclery Celebrates 40 Years of Cycling, Community, and Family Legacy
    Storm Lake, Iowa is the place to be the weekend of July 12–13, 2025, as Lakeshore Cyclery celebrates 40 years in business and the 29th Annual B-4 Bike Ride with two full days of festivities, bikes, and appreciation for the customers and community that made it all possible.
  • core4 introduces first-ever trail runs on Friday night!
    Set on the stunning grounds of Wilson’s Orchard, core4 is more than a race – it’s a full weekend of celebration with camping, live music, and local food. Riders from all around the world descend on Iowa to take on the iconic mix of surface: gravel, pavement, singletrack, and b-roads.
  • Flat Tire Lounge - Join Iowa PBS at the Flat Tire Lounge in Madrid on July 11th from 4–7 p.m. for Road Trip Iowa - an evening of music, giveaways, and community fun along the High Trestle Trail.
  • Whiterock Conservancy - Tackle Whiterock’s 28 miles of MTB trails by day, then unwind with fireside camping and wide-open skies by night.
  • The Des Moines Cycle Club, one of Iowa's oldest cycling organizations, fosters a welcoming community for riders of all ages and skill levels.  "We offer diverse group rides and opportunities to connect, grow, and enjoy the sport while honoring Iowa's rich cycling tradition." says Bill Klomstad, DMCC president. Find out more about the organization and become a member.
