The Iditarod Trail Invitational is the world's longest winter ultra-marathon.

As of Monday, March 18th at 6:15pm, Steve was 807.0 miles at 3.6 mph into his 1000 miles to Nome race. "Only" 193 miles to go!

Steve started on Feb 24th and has been out for 23 days.

Sounds like Steve may have had a stomach bug and was hanging out at 'foothills cabin' recovering. We don't know how long he has been there.

Steve rides in honor of those whose battle cancer.

Go Steve Go !

Original post: Where is Steve Cannon?

UPDATE from friend Keven Moreland - 3/18/19 4:48 pm

Just got a call from (weary) Rockstar Steve Cannon as he was getting ready to jump on his steed and finish up the Iditarod 1000. With
less than 200 miles to go, he feels the hardest tests are now behind him and is trying not to make any stupid mistakes that would knock him out of the race. His latest obstacle...Canjo had a scary report of a grizzly bear in the area around the trail last night that fortunately a snow machiner came along and fired his gun to scare it off. From his voice and coherency I could tell he is on auto-pilot and is in a darker place than most of us will ever know. But he is resolved to finish this task and thought he would do so in 4/5 more days.

If you want to follow along or MORE IMPORTANTLY donate to his cause...LLS of Iowa, please click here.
